Putting head up is …
Putting head up is no longer recommended for nose bleed. This is video here is correct technique. If bleeding does not stop within five minutes, they need to go to ER. Make sure they are seated, because walking around or standing excessively puts them at risk for fall and injury as they can become light headed and dizzy with the stress of the event and blood loss.

I agree TRIXSTER03.
I believe it is best to be aware of blood thinners and things that raise blood pressure and body temp and the more you avoid those, the better chance you have at avoiding nose bleeds.
Of course doctors say not to pick you nose, but with high blood pressure, blood thinners and over heating, when go and try to wash your face, just washing the outside of your nose can disturb it enough to bleed under those conditions.
Nose bleeds suck because you can’t see the source of it.

True, you can use …
True, you can use them to an extent. But as a first aid attendant I don’t suggest using them unless precribed by a doctor. And yes, some nasal meds can cause the blood to thin, making nosebleeds difficult to stop.

I found information …
I found information for preventing them.
Stop taking pain relievers (or only take them if you feel you have to, but limit yourself), such as Aspirin, Tylenol, Aleave, Ibuprofen and other anti-inflammatory medications, because they cause your blood to thin and encourage nose bleeds. If you quit using them, you will cut down the frequency a lot. Also, lots of salt can raise your blood pressure, so be careful with that too.

Well taking the …
Well taking the patietns clothes off and using fans would be great for any heat related emergency, such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke. But in this case I don’t suggest doing that. I also do not recommend any form of nasal spray unless prescribed by a doctor.

You can also place …
You can also place the ice on the back of the neck. Also if your nosebleed lasts more than 10-15 minutes, then you should go to the emergency room.

They have kits …
They have kits called casualty simulation kits. You can make burns and lacerations and a whole bunch of injuries with this kit. It’s amazing how real you can make these fake injuries look.
