Pelican case – …
Pelican case – Portable backup – battery, rig, quadplexer for crossband repeat use. Except for an installed external N type connector on the outside of the box with watertight cap to be run to a mobile antenna, or magnet mount antenna in wet locations, or rain without additional risk. Quad band Yaesu ft-8900-r is my choice.
Nice job on the project

Thanks,rack panel …
Thanks, rack panel from Digikey, a good jig saw and patience to cut the panel to size (make a 1/4 thick template of cheap wood material first), Im working on fabricating a newer design that hopefully will be available in kit or finished form for those who want GO kit ready to roll. Aloha Rick

Which company did you buy the panel from ? and what would be the best way you think to cut out the panel face ?
That a look at the Strong Box made by QuickCable for the 12 volt or 6 volt battery box ,Made very well and well last.
I really injoy all your video and your web site.with the weather links.

In response to a …
In response to a gentleman who asked how much the kit cost? roughly about $500 including the radio, more time then money is involved making the panel face how you want to see it laid out then anything else in the kit. Aloha

Im thinking more …
Im thinking more and more on making a generic production model for Hams and First Responders where you already have a mobile radio and just buy the Kit less the radio.

Nicely assembled OM …
Nicely assembled OM, I would like to see our world governments pay to have such kits available for Emergency Comms.
BUT since many do not understand our volunteer service, it is an uphill challenge.
