My Bug Out Bag is always being modified and improved. The kit in this video does not reflect my current setup. Although, the kit in this vid is very good and would definatly be suitable for a disasterous situation. This video should be helpful giving you ideas for your kit.

Pt 1: “Level 2″ First Aid Kit Review by Nutnfancy

My experiences in the outdoors led me to my Level 2 First Aid Kit concept. More capable in depth and breadth than my also-reviewed “Level 1″ First Aid Kit, my Level 2 kit will weigh more and be bulkier but can better handle medium medical emergencies. The kit shown focuses on capabilities in ROL (Rule of Law) situations where the priority is to stabilize the patient and effect transport to better facilities and care (when necessary). In group or vehicular outings, the increased size and weight of a typical Level 2 is more do-able. Similar to the Level 1, this kit still has an emphasis on stemming blood loss, disinfecting, pain stoppage, wound dressing, and bandage exchange. Size and weight are still players in this 5 lb kit and I don’t achieve the capabilities of Level 3 or Paramedic-level lifesaving kit. As I say in the vid, that type of kit requires medical training and its use comes with extra liability and concerns as a first responder. However I have the Level 2 kit shown has handled my encountered medical situations adequately and absolutely blows away any other kits I’ve encountered along this POU. Components of the kit and the foundational “Nutnfancy” philosophies involved are explained. An annotated list of my typical Level 2 Kit may be forthcoming (another project!). Compared to even a quality first aid kit, like ones from Adventure Medical Kits this version has more depth i.e. multiples of common use items which can better handle longer duration scenarios. It is difficult for makers like AMK to make kits to this level because of the markedly elevated cost in doing so (and then they won’t sell well because of that). As noted, my kits are transitional in nature and will include improved medical technologies that have merit and can improve or simplify my treatment capabilities. Handling medical emergencies on your adventures is your responsibility and help may be far away. You will also find that few people even carry a First Aid kit with this much capability and you will be the on-site medical expert since you’re prepared (been there). Having such a kit will minimize pain, injury, and maybe even save a life… possibly yours. Be prepared.

First Aid Kit – helpful tips from FreaknMissy

This is the 1st video of Los Angeles musician Missy (of FreaknMissy / Dogs of War) from Sherman Oaks. It was video-taped by her at her lockout. Missy shares what is inside one of her medium-size First Aid Kits. This is one that she carries in her car. This kit is still a “work in progress” and many items are still missing from the kit.

Missy does not claim to be an authority, but is rather sharing her method and style of how she made her medium size kit (she has kits of various sizes) in hopes that she might inspire others to be more prepared in cases of emergency. She is always hopeful for the best – but wants to be prepared for the worst.

Basic Wilderness Survival Kit And Contents

I’ve been getting some comments about adding more firelighting gear. What I have in this kit is more than enough. Many people go out with much less. There are many primitive ways of lighting fires that I can use.

Please Do Not Add Suggestions For Items I Already Keep In this Kit. I have Made And, Used Many Kits, And Combinations To Make This One. Unlike Many Of The Other Kits On YT, I Use The Items Frequently In The Outdoors. I Know Exactly What I Need For My Purposes. Please Remember- This Is A Last Ditch Kit, I Will Always Have Other Primary Gear With Me When I Venture Out.

“Level 1″ First Aid Kit by Nutnfancy

Sooner or later you will get hurt. And if it’s not you, it will be someone in your party. Therefore be smart and self-reliant and always have some medical capability integrated into your systems. Here I cover my first option to do just that, a “Level 1″ First Aid kit of my own construction. Siding with the emphasis on “Mobility”, this kit doesn’t contain supplies to handle every medical emergency. It is designed to handle most of the medical problems I’ve encountered in my adventuring. And at just 5.5 ounces and being very slim in profile, it is designed for high-speed outdoor, backpacking, tactical, or Xootring adventures (to be explained). This Level 1 kit has an emphasis on stopping blood loss, disinfecting wounds, minor pain stoppage, and bandage exchange. Components of the kit and some of the POU involved are explained; your preferences and needs may vary. Additional Level 1 kit items that I sometimes integrate include: sharp REI tweezers, surgical gloves, moleskin, Gorilla-brand duct tape (unless carried elsewhere in system), superglue vials (for wound closure), ACE bandages, salt and/or electrolyte drink mix (to revive dehydrated hikers), needles, and a scalpel. Integration of these items in the desired Level 1 size and weight constraints may be difficult however and is they are needed than maybe portaging a “Level 2″ (more complete) kit would be warranted. I do not use “QuickClot” in a Level 1; too heavy and bulky and not necessary. Compared to even a quality first aid kit, like ones from “Adventure Medical Kits” this version has more depth. It is difficult for makers like AMK to make kits to this level because of the elevated cost in doing so (and then they wont sell well). Handling medical emergencies on your adventures is your responsibility and help may be far away. You will also find that few people even carry a First Aid kit with this much capability and you will be the on-site medical expert since you’re prepared (been there!). Preparation: Long Term Survival Supplies For Your Home

Essential supplies to stock up on while you still can. Anything can happen in these uncertain times. It’ll happen when you least expect it, and you’ll need to be prepared. Natural disasters, Martial law, Economic Society Collapse, Domestic terrorism are just some of the things that can happen. This shows some of the cheaper supply options. There are some pretty good alternative options if your willing to spend the extra money. MREs have at least a 5 year shelf-life. Also a water filter would be great. I tried to add as much info as I could, and the video still went over 10 minutes. There may be a few items missing(garden seeds, vitamins, over the counter and prescription medicines, toilet paper, tampons, ect.). Also there are items that only pertain to your situation. Thanks.
